Messages & Inquiries

The built-in inbox — conversations with other companies, inquiries from your public profile, invitations, and system notifications.

Messages (/my/messages) is the platform's internal communication hub. Depending on each user's notification settings, messages are also delivered by e-mail.

The inbox

A two-pane layout: the conversation list on the left (with folders Inbox / Sent / Archive / Trash, search, and multi-select bulk actions), the selected conversation thread on the right. Threads support replying in context, marking read/unread, archiving, moving to trash, restoring, and permanent deletion.

Message types

  • Direct messages — conversations with other platform users; the compose form finds recipients by name, and external e-mail addresses can be included.
  • Inquiries (requests) — when a visitor uses Make an inquiry on your public profile or Contact provider on one of your references, the inquiry lands here (and with the reference's responsible contact). Both actions require the visitor to be logged in.
  • Invitations — e.g. to a shared watchlist, acceptable right from the message.
  • System & workflow notifications — e.g. when a colleague suggests a reference for approval or a client confirmation comes back.

Inquiries from your public presence

Inquiries are the conversion moment of reference marketing. Make sure they reach the right people:

  • Each reference's responsible contact (Internal tab) can be marked as the inquiry recipient for that reference.
  • Watch the Action required widget on the dashboard.
  • Enable e-mail notification for inquiries in your personal settings if you don't check the inbox daily.

Visitors must have an account to send inquiries — this keeps spam out and gives you a real counterpart, including their company profile, for every request.
