Search
Find references and companies platform-wide — full-text search, faceted filters, result views, and exports.
The platform search (/search) covers references and companies across the whole marketplace. It is public — anonymous visitors can search too — while logged-in members get extra options.
Searching
Type your query into the search box (or the header search on any page). Results are grouped with tabs:
- All — references and companies together
- References / Companies — one result type with full pagination
Search is full-text and typo-tolerant, ranks by relevance, and respects your interface language — queries match across language versions, and results display each entry in the best available published language (see Languages). Before you type, the page suggests recent searches and popular industries.
How terms are matched
A search term also matches inside longer words. This matters most for German compounds: Landeplatz finds Hubschrauberlandeplatz, and so does Hubschrauber — you no longer have to guess how a word was joined together when the project was entered.
Whole-word matches score higher than matches inside a longer word, so the most literal hits still come first.
Wildcards (*) still work, but you rarely need them — a plain term already finds word parts.
Deliberate search syntax keeps its exact meaning — where you use it, only whole words are matched:
| Input | Finds |
|---|---|
Neubau Klinik | entries containing both words |
"Neubau Klinik" | that exact phrase, in that order |
+Neubau -Sanierung | must contain Neubau, must not contain Sanierung |
Neubau OR Umbau | either term |
Header search & type-ahead
The header search suggests results as you type, grouped into Industries, References, Companies, News, and Job offers — selecting a suggestion jumps straight to that page. Entries visible only to your company are marked with a lock icon.
Filters
The filter rail refines results with live counts per option:
- Industries and Locations
- Selection toggles — All references, Confirmed references (client-verified only), Only ongoing projects, and for members Our company-owned references only
- Project period — members get a date-range picker with quick-select (This year, Last year, Last 3 / 5 / 10 years) and a custom range; anonymous visitors get the since year options. Either way a reference matches when its own project period overlaps the chosen period in any way, so projects that started earlier and were still running, or that continue past it, are included — as are ongoing projects without an end date. See Filtering by project period
- Services & methods, products, media types, and the branch-specific project properties (structured fields shine here)
Active filters show as removable chips; every filter state is captured in the URL — use Copy link to share a search with exactly these filters.
Result views & sorting
References display as tiles or list (your choice is remembered); on industry pages a map view is available as well. Sort by relevance, date (start/end, ascending/descending), title, or reference ID; companies sort by name or reference count.
Actions on results
- Print and Excel export of the current result list
- PowerPoint export (members)
- Add to watchlist on each result card
- Members with edit rights see an inline edit shortcut on their own references
The export dialog is the same as in the Reference Manager.
More projects from the web
Beneath the native results, search may show a "More projects from the web" section — external references automatically compiled from company websites and shown as compact, source-linked hits. They always rank below the references entered on the platform. If one of them is your project, you can claim your profile and take it over.
Recently viewed
Members find their viewing history under Recently viewed (/my/recently-viewed) — the references and companies they last opened, with the option to remove entries.
Anonymous visitors can open a limited number of reference detail pages before being asked to register. Search itself is unrestricted.
