Managing ReferencesClients & Contact Persons

Clients & Contact Persons

Manage the clients your projects were delivered for, their contact persons, and how clients appear on public reference pages.

Clients (Auftraggeber/Kunden) are managed centrally in the Client Manager (/my/company/clients) and linked to references. Central management pays off with repeat clients: update the client once, and every reference reflects it.

Creating and editing clients

A client record contains:

  • TypeCompany or Private person.
  • Company name and industry (for corporate clients; suggesting a new industry is possible inline).
  • Address (required, with map-based picker) and contact data (e-mail, phone, website, …).
  • Descriptions — a short teaser and a rich-text description per language.
  • Logo — shown on reference pages where the display type allows it.
  • Parent client — model group structures by linking a subsidiary to its parent.
  • Platform profile link — if the client is itself on the platform, their profiles can be connected; an Invite button sends them an invitation if they aren't yet.

Display type: how the client appears publicly

Not every client wants to be named. The display type controls the public appearance, with a live example preview in the form — from full company name with contact person, over anonymized forms ("a leading logistics company"), to fully private. The setting applies wherever the client is shown: reference pages, search results, exports, and the API.

Choose the display type together with your client — it's also the foundation for client confirmations, where the client's quote appears under the same display rules.

Contact persons

Each client can have any number of contact persons (name, job title, e-mail, gender/salutation), one of which is the main contact (marked with a star; any other contact can be promoted via Set as main contact).

Per-reference contact person

On the reference form's basic data tab, once a client is selected you can pick which contact person this specific project was delivered with — useful for large clients where different departments commissioned different projects. New contacts can be added right from the reference form. If no contact is picked, the main contact applies.

The chosen contact is used wherever the reference shows client contact information — including as the default recipient for confirmation invitations.

Clients in search & filters

Your clients appear as a facet in the Reference Manager filter rail — one click shows every project you delivered for a given client.
