Introduction

What referenzen.com and referencedeck.com are, who they are for, and how the platform is organized.

referenzen.com is a B2B platform for reference marketing: it helps companies collect, manage, validate, and showcase their completed projects — their references — to demonstrate expertise and win new business.

The platform is operated by done.by GmbH and is available in two editions:

  • referencedeck.com — the English edition

  • referenzen.com — the German edition

Both editions run on the same platform and share the same data. You can maintain your content in German and English side by side and reach audiences in both languages.

This documentation describes the current web application. Screenshots and UI labels refer to the English edition; where the German UI term differs significantly, it is mentioned in parentheses (e.g. watchlist / Merkliste).

What you can do with the platform

Who this documentation is for

The documentation is written for the people working inside a company account:

  • Reference managers — colleagues who create and maintain reference projects, upload media, and prepare content for publication. Start with the Quickstart and the Managing References section.

  • Company admins — colleagues who manage the company profile, team members and permissions, industry settings, and the subscription plan. See Your Company Profile and Team & Permissions.

  • Agency and web developers — external partners who embed a company's reference catalog on the company's website or intranet. See the API Reference.

The two sides of the platform

The public marketplace

Anyone can browse the public side of referencedeck.com / referenzen.com: search for references and companies, explore industry pages, and view public company profiles and reference detail pages. Visitors without an account can view a limited number of reference detail pages before they are asked to register.

The company workspace

After logging in, members work in the workspace (all pages under /my/…): the dashboard, the reference manager, the company profile managers, messages, watchlists, statistics, and the admin areas for team, billing, and distribution channels.

What each member can see and do in the workspace is controlled by roles and permissions.

Languages

The platform UI is available in German and English — every user chooses their own interface language. Content (references, company profile, news, …) is maintained per language: a reference can be published in German, in English, or in both. Machine-translation helpers in the editors make it easy to produce the second language from the first.
